Beware of hidden fees if buying from UK, you will have to pay hundreds of pounds extra to get your items and the website never makes this clear. The website does not make you aware that you are buying from the US. Prices are in GBP, it repeatedly advertises free shipping across the UK and it does not mention additional taxes to be paid at any stage of the shopping or payment process. The company like to reply and say that they send out agreements that state that additional fees may be payable but I've searched all my emails and even completed a second test order and I can't tell you where this agreement is supposed to be, so it must be pretty discrete. They also like to say it's mentioned in their Q&As - why not just put it on the order page, or under the price of each item??? Lots of websites make very clear their items exclude VAT, but not this one. Even if the company aren't breaking the law the fact that so many people have complained about this already and they haven't taken any steps to make it more obvious is atrocious. Oh, and in my case, they gave FedEx the wrong mobile number, so they couldn't even contact me to take payment of import fees, so an expensive engagement ring just sat in customs for ages, with no help at all from James Allen customer service who only replied to my first email and ignored the rest for a week.
I ordered two wedding bands and one was the wrong size.
When I tried to talk to someone from costumer service the women was so unprofessional and rude and did not fix my problem. I used their virtual ring sizer to convert a uk size to a us size which didn't work since the ring I received was too small.

honestly i would have gave 5 stars cause the site layout is perfect and the options are great but charging more for screwbacks??? thats such a clown move. Other sites offer friction or screwback for free and only charge for la pousette backs..
Absolutely beautiful. Was a little skeptical ordering an engagement ring online, but I must say it's even more breathtaking in person. I am more than satisfied with the purchase. Thank you James Allen
Extremely fast shipping time. My fiancé loves the ring and says it was the perfect choice! I normally wary of online retailers but JamesAllen made the process easy and special.
The service was solid and it shipped in time for the proposal. The only negative was it was not engraved like I had it in my cart. I do understand if the ring setting was too thin, but an alert or notification would have been appreciated. She absolutely loves the ring though
My fiancé brought me an engagement ring from James Allen back in January of this year. I have to say that the ring is absolutely beautiful, and we had no problems with shipping. However the ring is unfortunately so poorly made that it has broken twice in the five months I have had it. The first time it broke was only 24 hours after wearing it, and in both instances I have no idea how or why it has broken and therefore feel that the only explanation is down to the way it has been made. An engagement ring should be made to be worn on a daily basis (and fir many years!) and should been strong enough to withstand basic daily tasks! I always remove the ring when doing anything out of the ordinary e.g. any physically activity, gardening, washing up etc, so it’s certainly not a case of me being careless of a delicate piece of jewellery. It’s such a shame because as I say, the ring is really beautiful but there is no point having a nice ring if you can’t wear it due to fear of it falling apart. I’ve contacted customer service and am waiting for James Allen to respond with a solution for this defected piece of jewellery that was purchased from them in good faith. I would other customers to proceed with caution.

I did most of the research myself but there was once or twice that I had a question and the JA representatives were incredibly helpful. I love the fact that the website allows such a great zoom in of the diamonds! My fiancée loves her ring ????
Terrible communication about hidden fees. Completely unaware until my ring was stuck at customs and was then sent back as I had no idea I had to call and pay a further sum. Upon reaching out I then found the information in an email received AFTER we made the purchase. Definitely won't use again in a hurry.
Overall it's been a bad experience with this company. They will be quick to take your payment while advertising fast turnaround and fast shipment but you can expect your order to be stuck in limbo for weeks.
Communication is bad and people on the phone are short and not very concerned with what you have to say. The female I spoke to actually laughed when I said I would be posting a review. They will tell you a shipment date when you order but you probably won't be getting your purchase anywhere close to that date.
I was told that just the inspection process can take weeks to complete and was told that this was due to the weather. The weather?
Either way, I suggest taking your business elsewhere. I may be canceling my purchase and looking into legal options as I spent several thousand dollars with them only to be given the runaround.
Another note, I wouldn't waste your time with their financing. They use TD card services who are even more uninterested in customer service, they don't even answer the phone. I waited over an hour one day and just gave up. You can look this company up online and they have nothing but bad reviews.
